Documents Required for a Mortgage in Spain (Non-Residents)
Below you will find the list of documents required to apply for a mortgage in Spain as a non-resident. Please make sure that all documents are clear and complete.
- Passport (valid and in colour)
- NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) – Spanish tax identification number
- Proof of income:

- Last 3 payslips (if employed)
- Employment contract
- Latest tax return

- Bank statements for the last 6 months
- Credit report from your country of residence (for example, Experian, Equifax, or similar)
- Proof of existing debts or loans, if applicable
- Property reservation contract or purchase agreement (Contrato de arras / Compraventa agreement)
- Self-employed applicants must also provide:

- Profit and loss statement
